Adventuring in Walt Disney World - Kathleen Dorsey

Ashley Love knew she wanted to be a writer after she got hooked on Ann M. Martin's The Babysitter's Club series. From a very young age she wrote stories about her friends and herself, and continued to read anything and everything from young adult literature to nonfiction.

In high school she wrote and helped publish the creative writing publication, Reflections. After attending St. Cloud State University she earned a Bachelors of Science in Mass Communications: Print Journalism, a Bachelors of Arts in English: Literature and Writing, and a minor in Criminal Justice. During this time she wrote for the University Chronicle in Feature and News pieces, as well as interning for the St. Cloud Times Feature team. Memorable articles include interviewing Sister Andre Marthaler, Sheila's Shawls, and the history of slavery in Minnesota.

Afterwards, she attended graduate school at the University of North Alabama. She completed her thesis on retelling fairy tales through young adult literature. During this time Ashley also had the good fortune of interning at Walt Disney World in 2008. Her roles included being frontline Cast Member and trainer at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and a Staff Writer for Disney's Eyes & Ears. This was an amazing opportunity and while it is difficult to choose, some of

Ashley's favorite articles include: Dolphins-in-Depth experience, the history of the Cinderella Coach, and her behind-the-scenes look at Wishes, Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, and Fantasmic!

Ashley currently works as a freelance writer. In her free time she indulges her reading habit, shoe addiction, and love for animation. Some of her favorite books now include:

The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle

The Looking Glass Wars series by Frank Beddor

Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman

Reaper Man by Terry Pratchett

Beauty: A Retelling of Beauty and the Beast by Robin McKinley

The Rose and the Beast: Fairy Tales Retold by Francesca Lia Block
